CWP Global

The AMAN project will be capable of generating in the region of 30GW of renewable energy to produce green hydrogen from which alternative hydrogen derivatives may subsequently be manufactured. The purpose of this study is to gather data sufficient to develop a clear project concept and will entail desktop analysis, mapping and accompanying site investigation work.

The general scope of work:

• Desktop study to review available geological and hydrogeological published information and mapping of areas of constraint and assessment of geological characteristics and gap analysis. Assessment of hydrological characteristics and consideration of local aquifers and constraints. Identification of significant geotechnical risks and the potential for construction materials should also be identified. This work will be incorporated into an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA).
• A Site investigation Proposal will accompany this Desktop analysis to target areas of representative conditions, constrained areas or where a lack of data is identified.
• Site Investigation work will be agreed post submission of the Desktop work to verify and ground truth and to target areas of representative geological characteristics and areas of constraint or areas where data is lacking so that a wide range of variability is captured. Trial pits and preliminary geotechnical testing and boring at these focus areas will take place, with sample collection to obtain better understanding of site conditions and constraints.
• Further Site Investigation work to support the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase.

Expressions of Interest (EoI) are invited from consultancy houses with demonstrable expertise in renewable energy technologies and international experience.

We welcome comments on this draft ToR from experienced companies to tailor proposals appropriate to this work. While this is early concept level and ESIA focused work with some site investigation work to confirm desktop findings there will likely be further scopes of work in these fields as the Project progresses.
A pre-Qualification review will be undertaken upon review of the responses to the EOI form. The final choice of candidate and contract negotiations will begin end of April. Please see the FAQ for more details on the timeline.
All companies responding must have the legal capacity to enter a binding contract with CWP and to deliver in Mauritania, or through an authorized representative, and to have resources necessary to effectively execute the above Scope of Work and be qualified and experienced at performing the required work in similar environments and in addition well documented experience and credibility in geotechnical data acquisition including laboratory analysis and geotechnical feasibility studies. EOI submissions must be received by the closing date of March 28.
