Mark Crandall

Founder & Chairman

Mr. Mark Crandall co-founded Morgan Stanley's commodity trading business in 1984. Subsequently he was the head of Glencore’s oil trading business, and then was a founder of Trafigura which has now become one of the largest physical commodity traders in the world with over €100 billion in revenues. Upon leaving Trafigura in 2005, Mr. Crandall started investing his own personal funds in renewable energy development through PostScriptum Ventures. In 2007 he officially formed CWP where he currently serves as the Chairman and Member of the Executive Board.

Alex Hewitt

Founder & Board Director

Alex is a founding partner of CWP. Engineer by degree, entrepreneur, and keen surfer. With over three decades of experience built from spectacular successes across five continents and the odd humiliating failure, he has developed and financed over 2,000MW of wind energy projects in Europe and Australia since 2005. During his long career, Alex has been involved in the delivery of major power and water infrastructure across Asia, Australia, Europe , and Africa. He is now focussed on the development of CWP’s massive green hydrogen projects across the globe.

Mike Scholey

CEO

Mike assumed the role of CEO of CWP Global’s Hydrogen business in 2024 after serving on the board for several years. Before joining CWP, he was the CEO of Globeleq, where he started in 2015. Prior to that, he also led the original CWP grid-connected wind business as CEO.With 30 years of experience in the international power sector, Mike has worked across five continents, developing, building, financing, and operating projects involving a wide range of technologies, including gas, engine, solar, wind, hydro, battery, and biomass. He spent twelve years at AES, where he rose to the position of Division President.Originally trained as a geologist, Mike is also a Chartered Accountant. Though his time in the oil and gas industry was brief, he is now deeply involved in the Energy Transition, where he thrives on the scale and complexity of the challenges it presents.

Guido Schumacher

Chief Technology Officer

Guido is a highly professional business executive in the Renewable Energy sector with 26 years of experience in Sales, Commercial Operations and Business Leadership. He structured and negotiated wind-turbine contracts in over 30 countries and closed transactions worth over $16B, many of them with global energy companies like Iberdrola, EDF, EDPR, E-ON, Engie, ERG, Total, CEZ and ENI.

Charles Haworth

Chief Operations & Finance Officer

Charles has a wide range of international expatriate business experience working in the energy industry since 2006. This includes roles in Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, Hybrid Renewables, Gas Turbines, Services, Nuclear Energy and Reciprocating Engines. As a business leader, Charles has led teams across a multiple-B$ portfolio. He is committed to delivering innovative solutions to support the global energy transition. Charles is a graduate of two leadership programs within his previous company GE, the Commercial Leadership Program and the Accelerated Leadership Program and holds a PhD in Laser Physics and an MSci in Physics from Imperial College London, UK. In his spare time, he enjoys sports (martial arts, climbing, running and board sports) and writing articles on leadership, technology, investing and sustainability.

Ramy Lotfy

Chief Commercial Officer

Ramy Lotfy is the Chief Commercial Officer for CWP Global’s Hydrogen division Ramy is an established Business leader within the energy industry assuming senior leadership roles in PLC environments with accountability for strategy, M&A, Asset management, fund raising and commercial operations. He has led large and complex businesses globally with multi-billion dollar developments in the extractives, infrastructure and energy business. Ramy was most recently the group Head of Commercial for Tullow Oil PLC and held previous positions at BG Group and Wood Mackenzie.

Tom Dimitroff

General Counsel

Tom Dimitroff is a lawyer, strategy advisor and senior leader with wide-ranging experience in project, structuring, project de-risking, M&A and finance. Tom has spent 25 years working in energy and infrastructure and has led negotiating teams that have structured and delivered globally significant infrastructure projects across The Former Soviet Union, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

Bobby Pecotic

Chief Product Definition & Offtake Officer

After graduating with a degree in Philosophy and Economics, Bobby set up a record label in London which led him to developing a youth influencer campaign with Converse UK, which he ran for three years. Following this, Bobby went into real estate in London, eventually setting up his own real estate trading, investment & development company. In total, his company developed and traded land for just under 300 houses and apartments in and near London in under 4 years.

Nouri Chahid

Chief Business Development Officer

Nouri is an Aerospace Engineer graduate of Parks College of St Louis University (USA) and holds an MBA from the Nottingham Trent University (UK), with close to 30 years of experience in various business industries, of which 20 years spent in general management. Besides aero engineering (work on the MD-11 and MD-12 at McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach and on the L-59 at the Czech Aero Research & Testing Institute), Nouri’s field of expertise is in FMCG both in food and non-food, responsible for the Africa, Middle East and Indian regions at Outboard Marine Corporation, and CEO/Deputy CEO of the Klas Group/United Bakeries, as well as in automotive production & steel processing, as Managing Director of Worthington Industries cylinders division in the Czech Republic. After some short-term consultancy work within the last 10 years, Nouri joined the CWP Team in late 2019 and is now overseeing the development of some very exciting PtX projects on the African continent. Other than his work, his personal interests range from aviation, powerboating, cosmology, international politics, to simply skiing some slopes in his favorite Austria, playing tennis, chess or the violin at home.

Roberto Begher

Regional President LATAM

Roberto is the GM for CWP's South American developments. He has an extensive trajectory in the Energy sector where he has been Executive President, Director and CEO of various important companies such as IPI International, CGC and Puma Energy. He has also been member of the board to various banks and companies throughout the years. Roberto has spent most of his professional life creating and establishing new business models for innovative companies and has had close relationship with all the main players in the energy market and political arena. In his early years he graduated  in Law in Argentina (UBA) and in the United States (NYU MCJ) and has combined over the years this skill with his Business Management (Universite de Liege and OCD ) to write and negotiate long term contracts.

Tim Horneman

Regional President APAC

Tim is our Regional President for Asia Pacific and is responsible for our assets in Australia and activities throughout the Asia Pacific region. Tim is a member of the Board of Directors of our Australian projects AREH and WGEH and has relationships with Asian energy buyers. He has been involved in the financial and commercial management of the construction and operation of ultra large scale integrated energy assets which include the capture of upstream energy, midstream transmission and downstream processing and shipping of product.Prior to joining CWP, Tim held a number of roles at Origin Energy in green hydrogen and also as Chief Financial Officer and Deputy CEO of the US$25B APLNG joint venture between Origin Energy, ConocoPhillips and Sinopec and was responsible for managing a US$8B project finance facility. Prior to that Tim managed Petronas’ equity interest in the US$18B GLNG joint venture between Petronas, Santos, KOGAS and Total through the construction and operations phase.

Margaret Mutschler

AMAN Project Director

Margaret has substantial experience in the packaging, negotiating and managing of infrastructure projects, focusing on environmental sustainability, technical feasibility, commercial viability, legal architecture and financial bankability. She frequently performs due diligence processes for commercial banks, development banks and funding institutions. Margaret provides guidance to development in the infrastructure financing industry, serving on a number of investment fund boards and investment committees. Margaret completed her Electrical Engineering degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1991 and obtained her Master’s degree in Finance and Financial Law from the University of London in 2011. She also completed a Certificate in Blockchain Strategy during the 2020 COVID19 lockdown period. Since May 2017 she is a partner in Mutschler Consulting Services (MCS), a Namibian owned cross-sectoral consultancy. She provides engineering, management and development solutions on sustainable projects, across different sectors, whilst assisting clients in the development and implementation of projects, processes and structures which will support the ability of current and future generations to maintain a healthy community. She joined the team in 2019 and in 2023 took over the role of Director of CWP Global's 30 GW AMAN project in Mauritania.

Momchil Arnautski

Business & Financial Analytics Director

Momchil began his career as an assurance analyst at EY (Ernst & Young). After that he joined a Dutch hedge fund where he gained experience in equity trading encompassing various industries, top-down, bottom-up, quantitative and fundamental research, along with algorithmic trading strategy development. He was passionate to continue his career in value creation and environmental impact industries, thus after 2 years as an equity trader he joined CWP. Since joining CWP in 2017, Momchil has focused his efforts on financial analysis of various wind, solar and storage projects. He is also involved in the research and economic analysis of various technologies related to the power to molecules sector (PtX). Prior to working life, Momchil completed a master’s degree at Rotterdam School of Management and a bachelor’s degree at Bocconi University Milan. Outside CWP you will find Momchil in the park having a walk or learning how to play the guitar.
